All the bedrooms are individually furnished with colour television and tea and coffee making facilities. Most rooms are en-suite or have private facilities. There also is a ground floor bedroom that can be used as a quiet hideaway for a couple or makes a lovely room for a family of four.
The Breakfast room is comfortably furnished with a sitting area for you to meet or wait for friends. Breakfast is freshly cooked on the Aga and most dietary requests can be catered for, given some notice. For dinner there are many excellent restaurants and historic inns all within walking distance.
Why not try one of the Ghost Walks at night or take a leisurely stroll along the river embankment calling for an evening drink at one of the hundreds of York's Public Houses. Perhaps you could catch one of the tour buses from Monkgate to take you around York and you can hop on and off as you wish. You may wish to venture further a field as you are only a short distance from the North Yorkshire Moors, the seaside resorts of Whitby and Scarborough or the many stately homes including Castle Howard and Beningbrough. If you do not have access to a vehicle, there are many day trips from York that we can help you arrange.
